Grenfell Tower Investigation Files Submitted to CPS

The Metropolitan Police has submitted all files relating to its investigation into the Grenfell Tower fire to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) for charging decisions in relation to 54 individuals and 20 companies and organisations.
The potential offences being considered include corporate manslaughter, gross negligence manslaughter, health and safety offences, fraud and fraud-related offences, and misconduct in public office.
The Metropolitan Police investigation, Operation Northleigh, has run in parallel with the Grenfell Tower Public Inquiry. Police waited for the Inquiry to publish its findings before completing their investigation, allowing its findings to be considered as part of the criminal investigation.
The CPS will now independently review the evidence and decide whether charges should be brought. Charging decisions are expected before the tenth anniversary of the Grenfell Tower fire in June 2027.
