Imran Khan & Partners represented two defendants in proceedings arising from an incident at Manchester Airport on 23 July 2024.

Following two trials at Liverpool Crown Court, juries were unable to reach verdicts on allegations that the defendants assaulted Greater Manchester Police officer PC Zachary Marsden during the incident. The second jury was discharged after failing to reach verdicts following lengthy deliberations.

On 29 May 2026, the Crown Prosecution Service confirmed that it would not seek a further retrial. The CPS stated that a third trial would only be pursued in highly exceptional circumstances and that this case did not meet that threshold.

Not guilty verdicts were subsequently recorded against both defendants.

Throughout the proceedings, the defendants maintained that they had acted in lawful self-defence and in defence of one another.

Fahir Amaaz was represented in court by Imran Khan KC leading Danielle Buckett of Nexus Chambers. Muhammad Amaad was represented by Chloe Gardner of Nexus Chambers.
