On 27 May 2021 young Brandon Geasley died following a lengthy police pursuit by officers of Greater Manchester Police.
The Inquest touching upon his death commences on Monday 4 July 2022 at the South Manchester Coroner’s court.
Brandon’s family are very concerned about the recent rapid increase in deaths following pursuits initiated by Greater Manchester Police. They have identified 11 separate incidents in which Greater Manchester Police pursuits resulted in death between April 2019 and May 2021 including Thomas 'Tull' Connor (6 April 2019), Leo Gradwell (10 October 2019), Patrick Connors (24 September 2020), Thomas Sharpe (24 September 2020), Shae Marlow (3 November 2020), Kyle Hudson (13 November 2020), Ronaldo Johnson (31 March 2021), Diyar Khoshnaw (19 April 2021), Devonte Scott (16 May 2021), and Brandon Geasley/Pryde (27 May 2021). In some of these incidents other members of the public also lost their lives including a 71-year old woman in a separate pursuit (20 February 2021).
