Inquest into e-bike battery fire which killed Family starts today

An inquest into the death of a mother and her two young children, who died as a result of an e-bike battery fire, starts today in Huntington.

 

Gemma Germeney (31), Lily Peden (8) and Oliver Peden (4), died in the fire, in the early hours of 30 June 2023, at their home in Cambridge.

 

IKP act for Scott Peden, partner of Gemma and father to Lily and Oliver.

 

Counsel Miles Bennett, of 5 Paper Buildings, is instructed.

 

The inquest starts on 8 October 2026 at Vantage House in Huntingdon, and is expected to last for two days.

 

The Office for Product Safety and Standards are interested persons at the inquest.
